## What it is

Sealed, uncrewed, buoyant bioreactor producing slime in the Venusian cloud band. **Smallest commercially available slime production unit.** Comparable to a truck or shipping container in size, cost, and operational complexity.

## Why it exists

Industrial Schleimfarmen produce at scales of millions of volume units per quarter, fill corridor-stream contracts years in advance, cannot serve small/immediate/provenance-specific demand without disrupting their scheduling.

Small buyers — secondary processors, specialty manufacturers, construction outfits with immediate pours, hobbyists — need small quantities on short notice, often with certified origin. **The AutoSlime fills that gap.**

Cytherean Industrial Solutions (CIS) identified the gap, designed a standardized unit, structured as a franchise: operator buys the unit, CIS collects the maintenance contract, operator owns the yield. Incentives align: CIS wants unit to keep working, operator wants yield.

## Operation

**Form.** Lifting body. Passive-stability airfoils (shape-tuned camber, shear-aligned trailing geometry) suppress vortex shedding without active control. Broad underside faces down into lower cloud deck. PV/sensor ridge along top, shaped as low-profile aerofoil.

**Buoyancy.** Sealed internal cells with heated gas + low-mw compounds keep density below ambient. Distributed ducted airfoils powered by PV ridge handle station-keeping. Altitude hold ±200 m, horizontal drift within licensed column. **Unit embeds in the superrotating wind.**

**Chemistry.** Single automated cultivation chamber. Engineered acidophilic, CO₂-metabolizing, polysaccharide-secreting organisms. Atmospheric feedstock (CO₂, water, N₂, sulfur). Biopolymer matrix accumulates in internal bladder.

**Collection.** At 100% bladder, broadcasts collection-ready signal on common cloud-band channel. Franchise barge matches position, docks briefly, transfers, departs.

**Maintenance.** Continuous acid-wash cycle uses ambient H₂SO₄ as cleaning agent — flushes deposited sulfur on programmed schedule. Hull: 8–12 mm ceramic-polymer composite, acid-resistant.

## The franchise contract

Mandatory. Cannot be legally operated in the Cytherean cloud band without it.

- Quarterly barge service
- Annual hull inspection
- Culture strain health assessment
- Replacement wear components

CIS barge network is the only authorized collection infrastructure.

## Economics

- 140 ☉ × ~4.5 t/quarter Grade I commodity = ~8 yr payback
- Grade II output (requires strain management beyond basic CIS protocol) → ~5 yr
- Provenance-certified specialty buyers → substantially higher margins

**The real competition is the other Gen-6 in the adjacent cloud column.** Industrial platforms don't compete here — 4.5 tonnes is less than noise in their quarterly output. **Market is local.**

## Tier position

Canonical example of the **beam-independent tier** (see `pure-atp.md`):
- Ambient atmosphere as feedstock
- Ambient sunlight as energy
- Sucrose + battery as light-interruption buffer

No external energy infrastructure. No ATP supply chain. No minimum throughput threshold. **Output ceiling fixed at Grade I–II by this architecture.** nirmāṇa-class ownership viable by construction, not by exception.

## What it isn't

- Cannot produce Grades III–VI — those require environmental precision, multi-strain management, or sterility a sealed 8-meter lifting body cannot provide
- Cannot upgrade into an industrial platform — scale gap is three orders of magnitude in every dimension
- Cannot operate without CIS barge network for collection or CIS maintenance infrastructure for parts

**It is an appliance.** Works because the infrastructure around it — barges, parts supply, cloud-band licensing, the commodity market — already exists. **Not a path to independence. A path to being a small participant in a large system, which is what most economic participation has always been.**

## Cultural pattern

The recognizable structural pattern the franchise was built around: *I want something that produces something, without requiring anyone's permission to let it continue.*

The Bronze Age farmer owning an acre, the 21st-century investor owning income-generating assets, the operator owning seven truck-sized atmospheric platforms — same psychology, four millennia apart. CIS built a product around real psychology, not cynicism.
